Okey Nwakwesi started his career as a Field Engineer in 2004 with Fymak Marine & Oil Services Nig. Ltd. He became the Executive Director - Operations in 2006 after successfully negotiating a contract award from Chevron Nigeria Limited for the construction of two 170ft x 31ft Fast Support Intervention Vessels. He went on to represent the company from commencement (keel laying) of construction through to completion (Vessel launch) at Horizon Shipbuilding Incorporated in Alabama, USA.

The value of his contributions to the vessels design and build was duly acknowledged as evidenced by an inscription on the Built By Plaque, which recognised the owner representative as a partner in the process.

Mr Okey Nwakwesi eventually rose to the position of Managing Director in 2009, a position he held for four years prior to making the decision to step aside in order to explore a career within the construction industry, but always with the intent to return to his passion for marine vessel construction.

Armed with a wealth of experience in the marine and construction industries, which expanded his technical and management knowledge beyond the fields of chemical (process) engineering and building services engineering (both degrees awarded at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom) to mechanical/marine and civil engineering, he is now poised to apply that knowledge to take on the vast challenges within the fields of shipbuilding and concrete flotation systems building.
